Well, I found out that getting the beast off of the trailer wasn't the hard part. Getting it from the scissor lift to the floor proved very challenging. I finally ended up jacking ip the scissor lift (with the planer on it of course), so I could roll an engine hoist leg underneath it. Strapped up the planer and was able to lift it off of the scissor lift, and pulled the cart out from underneath. 1700lbs of iron hanging 16" in the air wasn't comfortable so I quickly lowered it onto the engine hoist legs. I lengthened the boom so that the leading edge of the planer would extend beyond the hoist legs. Dropped the front edge down to the floor, jacked up the rear off of the hoist, and pulled the hoist out, lowered the plane onto 3/4" pipe and rolled it into place.
Here's a link to a short video of it firing up. Wish there was a way to get rid of the VFD whistle!
Planer has variable feed speed, what is video'd is the slowest speed.
