Yellow Box timber is a highly sought after fuel because it is long lived,dense twisted sometimes always long lasting,gives out intense heat. Burl is uncommon but beautiful.
As this pen progressed it went through pale reds , orange, birds eyes and tons of character, the pic only one side I stuffed up the transfer of a couple more.
Another very desirable Aussie Burl Timber seems to pop up now and then.

As always, no matter what timber you use, with your turning you have the ability and craftsmanship to make the timber look great.

Nicely done, Peter. I turned a little bit of that recently, and it's one of my favorite Aussie burls... Seems to be a bit softer and easier to work than some of the others.

Great looking pen. Where did you find the timber? I would like one on a Cigar.
