    Shop layout

I have the OK From the War Department (Wife) to build a stand alone shop. Anyone know where there might be some shop layout sample to look at for ideas ?

Grizzly's web page has a simple free downloadable shop layout program. Try it.

    Mark -

Welcome to the Creek. A great place to hang out and exchange ideas.

Frank Pellow just finished building a shop. He is outfitting it now. Do a search. There are several different threads (by subject) of Frank's trials and tribulations as he went through the experience. Lots of valuable info to be had.

Mark...Welcome to the 'Creek! Check out the FWW website. Under "shop" they have a free article that addresses shop layouts.

Mark before you worry about the layout determine the size shop you need/want. The easiest way to determine the size is to take the size of your property remove house, figure setbacks and build to the max.:>). You only think that what you plan will be big enough.:>) Steve

Thanks for the help guys! Steve i tried that approach and she didnt seem to be thrilled with that. I have the size and location determined but i want to be smart about the layout so when it happens i have a plan and i can optimize the space. Im new to the WW thing (2yrs) and i have assembled the aresenal (waiting on the shop for the cabinet saw) but have been stuffed into one half of a 2 car Garage, everythign is on wheel at this point. I am real excited about having my own space (she doesnt get a key) I have really enjoyed the "creek" as you call it not sure of the lingo yet.

    Thanks again
