    removing rust from planes

I've been asking a lot of questions about planes recently and I have a couple more. I looked at the step by step quide to tuning hand planes and it mentions using a non-abrasive cleaner to remove the rust. Is there a particular cleaner that you would recommend, or should I use good ol' WD-40 with some steel wool? If I use WD-40 what is the easiest way to get the greasiness off when I'm done?

    Thanks again

The WD40 and steel wool or Scotchbrite (my preference) will work just fine.

A light coating of WD40 left on the plane won't hurt a thing - actually, it'll help deter further rust.
