I agree with Mike about looking for a swing away type of heat press. My large heat press is a clamshell model and it can be a bear sometimes to get pieces situated properly when the press is very hot. The larger the press the more difficulty you will experience trying to get your substrate situated without disturbing the paper. I can't use any tape when dye-sublimating Corian as it leaves an impression of the tape in the Corian surface.

My smaller Knight heat press is a swing away, this one is used for T-Shirts and most of the more traditional dye-sub work. The swing away is a snap to work with and lessens the opportunity to receive a bad burn.

Keith,I am wondering if you might be able to use the Pro Spray adhesive from Conde? I have subbing hardboard and frp using it and it works great. It leaves a little residue but it comes right off with a little dna.

    Larry,

Do you spray the adhesive on the substrate?
I'm surprised it doesn't interfere with the dye sublimating.

I use it too Keith, just a light spray on the transfer sheet.
It's like a temporary adhesive. It seems to work pretty good.
    Worth a shot.

It's hard to say with Corian, that may get too soft.

Conde has a pretty good research dept so you mat give them a call.

All I can tell you is that it works. You spray just a very light coat on the transfer. It works with the fiberglas reinforced plastic, so I would think it would work on the Corian. It will have a little feel to it after it cools and I can just rub that off with some dna or acetone.
