    Gear Clock Book

I started a book showing how to build this clock.

I built the prototpe shown here.

I have planned on the book being used by both advanced and begginer woodworkers. That clock proved to be fairly advanced because it requires more gears and lots of brass tube bushings. Allignment is crucial.

I decided to design a little simpler and more forgiving clock for beginners. So I drew it up in AutoCad.

    Here is a working prototype.

_MG_9715.jpg It does not have a face but is pretty easy to build and very forgiving. I plan on prividing an area where the builder can make design modifications as long as the arbor holes and not moved you can change the design quite a bit.

My question is the hex design is easy to build but the round face does not seem to work very well on this implentation. Does anyone have any suggestions? Oh this clock is also a little smaller than the more advance version.

I will provide both designs in the book. I also plan on offereing the Gcode for those who own CNC machines.
