Well it has such a nice even coat of rust, I'd have difficulty applying paint to such a consistant coverage.

    ;-)

Beauty IS in the eyes of the beholder. But, since the seller would not take time to shine up the jointer tables, $75 OFF should do it!

Would you say a car with that much rust was in excellent condition? Yeah tool sellers blow me away sometimes...

    That's not rust. That's patina.

Above is a typical CL ad from my area.
In case you can't tell, it's a Craftsman radial arm saw w/a new oak top cabinet and drawers and extras.
I'm not sure if the extras are all the stuff piled on top or not.

Actually if you look at the rest of the machine it has no dents or scratches. It looks like a machine that did not see much use, and for that money, I'd buy it. Tools rust. That little surface rust is nothing to worry about, does not affect the usability of that tool one little bit. I have seen much worse adds, like the previous post.

My favorite is: "Good condition for its age" To me that means they are offering excuses for it being messed up. Heck, I may be considered "Good condition for my age". Probably not though......

We had one the other day where the guy was selling a decent looking Jet cabinet saw and a Jet overhead air filter. He had laid half of the 60 pound air filter across the top of the Jet xacta fence. And, he was asking near new retail for them!
Yeah, that’s a guy I want to buy from!

I am searching for a jointer as well...and i find the exact same thing.

Folks....LIKE NEW condition does not include a solid coat of rust and wood chips hanging out of the dust collection shoot.

I am 99% ready to just call Grizzly and order an 8" jointer if i can't find one soon.

It would be 250 if he had enough brains to add the word vintage to it.

As soon as you call and order one you'll run across a perfectly gloatable used machine.

My favorite CL tool adds in my area are the ones that are asking near-retail prices for equipment listed as "like new", "never used", "pristine" and the included picture(s) show it buried 6 inches deep in leaves next to the house and all shiny with rainwater!
