Thread: 2x4 benchtop complete w/pics

    Are those 2x4's or 2x 6's? In the pictures the boards look larger than 2x4's.

    Aurelio,They are 2x4s in the center (12 of them) and 2x6s on the outside.

    Greg,I didnt forget about you buddy! Im trying to figure out the best way to explain myself. THis part of the project drove me isane! I almost gave up but Im glad I didnt.You basicly have to build up a core (block) of wood to put inbetween the two green plates you have, try to find member Jonh Dingmans pics and web site,in the mean time Ill go get my son to try to post the pics of my core , Im a computer dummy!     Thanks Everett. The bench looks strong and beefy! Excellent work on it. I mean it. This seems to be a cost effective way to build an excellent workbench. I might try that. Hopefully, I will do as fine a job as you have.
