I have not had much in the way of woodworking project going on in the last 8 months, because I have been working on a building my shop! I am planning a thread, complete with photos when it is finished, but still have a way to go.

Started moving things from the garage to the shop a couple of weeks back, and had a tragic accident. I managed to turn my Grizzly 1023 saw over, and broke the motor mount casting. My dad was able to weld it back together, and I spent most of yesterday afternoon putting the saw back together. Other than the elevation hand wheel dragging just a tiny bit, there seems to be no other damage.

My questions: What is the proper way to tension the 3 power belts that drive the arbor? What is the proper tension? I'd always read that the belt should deflect about 1/4" when pushed upon, if it was properly tensioned. Is this correct? My documentation that came with the saw is pretty lacking.

Thanks,
