Thread: Tips for Lasering Granite tiles with Photos

  1. #16
How can I cut shapes out of marble or granite tile. Or is there a place to buy custom or stock shapes in these materials for laser etching and sandblasting?

You're not going to cut it with the laser, if that's what you're asking...

Some places (like TimberBits) sell a couple of shapes (round, heart, etc.), but anything truly custom is better done by you if it's in small quantities. You can use a wet tile saw for simple, straight cuts, or search for a ring saw to do complicated scrollwork. Smoothing the cut edge can be done pretty quickly with a sander, but polishing the edge will require some time.
