First Rocking Horse - pine and walnut

Made this for an employee's 3-yr old niece's birthday. Thought doing this from a plan would be easy, but the leg splays and fitting 4 legs to a rocking base was not easy for me. The plans called for a yarn mane/tail, but I went with wood. I hope that tail holds up, I pegged it pretty well with a very large dowel.

Instead cutting the leg wedges square, I used an angle grinder to curve them.

I also left out the ear and made the eye a drilled hole instead of knobs

Great looking rocking horse. Good luck on that tail lasting very long. First time the second kid decides to ride double. Don't what else you could do, though.
