    router table suggestions

I am looking for a benchtop router table. Nothing fancy but would like it to have the ability to do jointing. I have looked at the benchdog unit on line and also one of the craftsman models that can joint. Would like to stay in the under $250 range. Any suggestions.

Build your own...a good plate, switch, mdf, glue, dust fittings, and assorted hardware to build a great router table will set you back about that. You could even go full size.

I would suggest a CL search on searchtempest dot com. You could source parts, or a complete system.

Some quick searches in my area gave a variety:

    This looks pretty good:

r if you are more adventurous, go for this - sell the saw for $1000 and get a free table +$500

bet if you did regular searches for a month, you would come up with something pretty great.

I have this setup, and I love it! Toyed with building my own, but this was a much quicker-to-service option! I did get my top from another creeker for a good price though...

I would love to try Woodpecker's Phenolic top, but that's pretty pricey!

+1 on building your own if you can dedicate the time & effort
