    kids playhouse

I am contemplating building the kids a playhouse this summer. I did not really consider this "Woodworking" as such and I guess I will be designing it myself but I again did not think this was approprrirate for that forum. SO I am posting it here.
Hae any of you built such a unit? I am looking at making it elevated like a treehouse without a tree. I have an old issue of workbench that has a plan I may use and moify to suite us. If anyone has done anything at all like this and has pictures plans comments etc please respond. DO I need to set the posts on cement or can I get away with just setting it on the ground. etc..
    Thanks!

Let me know if you have any questions, I might (?) still have the plans. If not, I can get some better pic's.

    Chris,

As far as the setting posts goes, it really depends on your plans. If you have no plans to move in the near future, I would set the posts in concrete. You don't want the playhouse blowing over in a bad wind

Also, the raised playhouse is a great idea, friends of mine as kids had one and it was great! Underneath they had a sandbox as well that we could play in...

    Good luck!

There was an interesting discussion a while back about carpentry projects being woodworking projects in the main forum. You might want to look it up.

Do you need a shed in your backyard? I saw an interesting plan in a book where an 8'x12' playhouse was added as a second story to a 12x'x12' storage shed. The front 4' of the playhouse portion was left open as a porch. I hope this gets your creative juices flowing.

Thanks all... I appreciate all the responses

This is the plan I have in an old workbench magazine... I might just use this plan and modify it....
