    Wax On Wax Off

I was wondering what everyone's favorite wax is and why? I'm not a turner so Friction Finishes doen't interest me. I have several projects for Christmas that are going to need a nice wax finish. (I posted this in another forum by mistake, so I reposted here)

Johnson's or Minwax are fine. Be careful with BriWax it contains toluene and can ruin a freshly finished surface. Varnish needs a month to cure; if it's not fully cured the toluene will ruin it.

I avoid wax on most finishes; it creates a maintenance item for the end user. It also provides very little to no protection.

Finishing is an 'Art & a Science'. Actually, it is a process. You must understand the properties and tendencies of the finish you are using. You must know the proper steps and techniques, then you must execute them properly.
