    Jewelry box Xmas Gifts

Finished these jewelry boxes just in time for Xmas gifts for granddaughters.

Cases as solid walnut as are the drawers except for the drawer fronts that are quartersawn oak. The first finish coat is 1/3 of MS, BLO and varnish with additional wipe-on coats of 1/2 MS and varnish. Coats were sanded in-between. Drawer bottoms are lined with medium brown velvet. Two of the three drawers have walnut dividers, the third drawer is completely open.

Original plans were found at rodswoodworking (no affiliation with). Changes to the plans include floating tenons rather than pocket hole screws to join the case, dovetails on the drawers, and re-dimensioning the drawers so they are identical in size and can be interchanged if desired.

What's the follow up? Did they like 'em? This is a neat heirloom.
