    Salt & Pepper Mills

First things I've turned, except for a few pens at Christmas, since May. Osolnik inspired mills in spalted curly maple and walnut crotch, finished with CA and Crushgrind mechanisms. Felt good to set aside work and home projects to get back to the lathe. Probably wouldn't have done it if these weren't special order for a customer. It was fun while it lasted but I better get some landing nets done and finish my flooring project. Comments and criticism always accepted.

Nice job... which crushgrind model did you use?

Could you tell us your thoughts on turning these for crushgrind?
I am interested in turning a few of these (I have requests).

I used the shaft mechanisms. I cook a lot and like the crushgrind because it is a smooth and consistent grind. With the adjustment on the bottom, you never lose your grind setting and leaves a nice clean top on the mill.

    Jim...they are 10" tall with a 1" through hole.

Beautiful set, Phil, and very well done!! BTW, I took a look at some of your landing nets - I don't even fish and I still think they are beautiful!
