Thread: An Elegant Jelly Cabinet

    An Elegant Jelly Cabinet

Finally finished - except for the finish - if you know what I mean.
The Elegant Jelly Cabinet is complete.
I used New Guinea Rosewood predominantly, with an Australian Rosewood panel for the door.
For such a small cupboard, it turned into a saga in ten parts on my BLOG
There were a few little dramas but it turned out OK in the end.

    Happy woodworking to all ....

    Mmmmm jelly.

That cabinet looks as good as jelly tastes!!!

Post more pics w/ the finish, I imagine it will change colors a bit, it would be nice to see that.

Nice work Martin. That's a classy little piece of cabinetry.

Thanks Glenn. I think that it has pleasing proportions.

    Thanks again fellas.
Am away from home for a while at the moment, so I will post a picture of the cabinet with its finish applied when I get back to it.

Is Elegant Jelly a euphemism for Vegemite?

If so, that's an acquired taste. How much of it would you really need to store?

    No, no, no.
The cabinet is meant to be elegant, of course.
Vegemite is like caviar - too much spoils the taste.
I suppose that it is an acquired taste, but Australian children were raised on it and love it.
Here is the recipe for the best sandwich that you have ever tasted:
Very fresh white bread, slabs of very fresh chilled butter and a thin coating of Vegemite.
    Yum!

Uppa Heyah in New England, vegemite is used to prevent rust on tools and punish unruly toddlers.

I had a girlfriend from Cairns, FNQ that was most insistent it was a delicacy.
We parted ways over this disagreement. I believe she's running an Ashram in Birmingham, these days.
