    Living room end table design

I designed these and made them from red oak for my sweet wife's pleasure and mine. We both sit with our lab tops and I wanted a simple but elegant design that would allow us to put our lap tops to rest and still have a table top for functional use. Since I put everything in drawers when it is time to clean up I put a couple of drawers in each. These end tables take hard punishment so I used rock hard varnish (many coats) My wife wanted a high gloss finish so thats what I did. Stained them dark walnut, and used grain filler. The tops float on figure 8 fastners, quite a few per table. Used my router table to cut all the moldings and edges. All comments are welcome unfinished end table.#2.jpgone of the finished end tables.jpg

    Hello Breck,
I have been searching like crazy to find a workflow to get piano like glossy( like you have there), are you able to share this with me? I am trying to do that on veneer.

    Thanks!
