    Bed out of reclaimed wood

This project was completed recently for our bedroom. I was on my to the lumber yard when I saw a neighbor discarding fir siding and full dimension lumber form his 80 yr old garage. The wood had great natural color that was preserved for this bed. It was finished with many coats of laquer and hand-rubbed. A 2x6 cut off was also repurposed into a hallway sconce. It received a red mahogany stain and several coats of shellac.

Well done! The reclaimed lumber gives the bed and sconce a lot of charm.

Very cool. I like your picture hanging moulding. We did the same thing in our living room because we move our furniture around quite a bit. That way we can move the art too.
