    Ebonizing and Gluing

After doing some research here regarding ebonizing, I purchased some Fiebings USMC black leather dye. I have some small accent pieces that I will be ebonizing. How does this stuff effect the glue-up? I presume that an ebonized surface cannot be glued (even if finish has not been yet applied). Is this correct?

I am not familar with that dye; that said, most dyes do not have a binder, so the glue should still work fine. Stain has a binder (varnish) and it seals the wood; once sealed the glue will not work very well.

Finishing is an 'Art & a Science'. Actually, it is a process. You must understand the properties and tendencies of the finish you are using. You must know the proper steps and techniques, then you must execute them properly.
