    A buddah shrine

    I made a similar one for my Sis-in-law, and decided to try one in walnut.

    Looks great, Mark. Well done. I like the figure in the wood and the hinges are cool. Where did you get them?

    Al, I got the hinges at ANZEN HARDWARE in LIttle Tokyo in Los Angeles.

    Where's the buddha?

    Looks great--which tradition is it for?

    I like the use and symmetry in the grain and the contrast with the front panel; my only suggestion is that the hinges look large for the size of the case to my (western trained) eye.

    Finally, what did you use for finish?
