What is the best way to figure even spacing for tall floor to ceiling shelving.
It depends upon how exact you want it and how you treat the base/kick. The simplest but not exact is to measure the ceiling height in inches and divide by number of spaces. That should give you centerline for shelf spacing. The problem with that is that is that it presumes that you'll have something sitting on the floor and that two of the spaces (top and bottom) will have slightly higher spaces due to 1/2 of the thickness of a shelf.
A more exact way is to take the height in inches then subtract the combined shelf thicknesses and divide by the number of spaces. It is hard to be more helpfull without more specifics as to what you are trying to do.

Make them adjustable shelves then you don't have to worry about it.
