First Dust Collection project complete, well almost.

In the quest for less dust I thought I would attack one of my worst offenders first.
I have the Ridgid Oscillating Spindle sander and use the belt portion quite a bit. It sure does throw the dust everywhere and in a very short time it will make a cloud.

Have to say this is not my idea, just my version. There is a real slick one out there that was done with Plexiglas and was the inspiration for this version.

Hooked it up with my shop vac for testing and I am quite happy.

One little step for sure, but progress.

It will work with the two smaller spindles the way it is now, I can enlarge the hole on the left side to work with the bigger ones when the need arises.

    Thx

The last picture may be a little confusing. It is a shot of the bottom. The little hole on the left hand side is where the red bolt attaches, the small piece of plywood glued to the bottom slips into one of the original dust vents and the MDF also helps to locate the fixture in place. It really is very stable and pretty much stays where you put it when the red knob is tightened down.
    Cheers
