    Saw handle profiles needed

    Hi guys -

I'm trying to locate a website that has photos of old dovetail saw / backsaw handles. I seem to recall looking at a site several months ago that had several dozen side view photographs of these handles, with maker names and dates, but of course I can't find it any more. Can anyone steer me toward this site?

    Thanks!

This may be it; been shopping around a bit for a dovetail saw so I recently seen the site.

Also try here for templates made from scanning handles into CAD: http://www.tgiag.com/saw-handle-scans.html

The trouble with the CAD suggested above,is that their templates are pretty crude, and they have lost those subtleties that make or break a fine design. The Groves closed handle is one of my favorites(on my saw in the FAQ section),but it misses a lot of detail.

    The curves are pretty rough,too.

Wow, thanks fellas. The backsaw.net site is it!

Now to finish that dovetail saw...

Kelly Gramercy has a nice printout/pdf of a saw handle for the kit they offer. Last page of the instructions.
