Thread: Stanley 720 Chisel Advice

    I never heard of Berg chisels, but I sure have heard of Stanley 720's and 740' for that matter.
    I have some random 720's and 740's. I would like more.

    I would use them. Keep them clean and sharp, you will not regret it.

    I have a couple of 720s and more E.A. Bergs. Both are foreign made chisels here. The Bergs are thinner and much more beveled, though the Stanleys are paring chisel length, they are ground "firmer". Stanley took note of preference of some for the Bergs and started selling Swedish Pattern chisels. At, I think , a higher price than the 720s.
