Old dump truck relief carving

This is a carving that I have been working on for the construction company I work for. The panel is approximately 3' x 4' x 2" and is made of basswood. This has been a very challenging piece for me. The perspectives really have made me think twice before I cut. I still have a long way to go and will post pictures along the way.

I like what you are doing with the exception of the boards in the foregound. I think I would subdue them some. It takes your eye away from the dumptruck.

Holy cow... I skipped over this thread when it first popped up as carving as a hobby is not my thing (though I always like the final results). That was a mistake. I'm really impressed by this piece, Roger. Nicely done!

I think the last picture really shows the importance of varying textures in a work. I like the way you styled the trees and ground in the background. Your work clearly shows that all elements of a picture are important. Very nicely done!
