    Powermatic 66 "Clunk" noise

The answer to the clunk noise when powering down is in the belts and belt tension. New belts tensioned up and the noise pretty much goes away. There is a point in the slowing down where the length of the belt and the harmonic come together and there is a vibration in the belts. I did replace the bearings in the arbor ($8.00 each) and the belts ($9.00 each) and we are good to go. A very easy saw to work on. The arbor comes out as an assembly and the belt tensioning is a snap, not hard to get at, at all.
