Rikon model 50-120 benchtop belt - disk sander

I have this belt sander connected to a Dust Collector. Fills the air with dust to the point I can hardly use it. Any ideas or suggestions?

    Gary,

This Forum Tech Support forum is to provide technical support to those who are experiencing problems using this website.

Your thread would be more appropriately placed and would get more responses in the General Woodworking and Power Tools forum so I am taking the liberty of moving it there.

The cowling looks like it would direct the DC force to the right areas for pickup. If you are dropping for DC down to 6", then 4" and then 2-1/2" (as I do for my sander) you may get better performance from opening another gate up stream from the sander to add more free air flow.

Get a role of weather stripping and then seal up the gaps. Makes for a quick improvement.
