I'm working on restoring a DeWalt MBF saw, thought it might be of interest to see how the motor gets updated.

Excellent posting and fascinating to see how carefully you did the work. Many people shy away from rebuilding elec. motors when the process is pretty straighforward. When in the Navy we rewound elec. motors on my ship all the time in support of the Fleet nearby.

Thanks for the show-and-tell. Been into motors but never that deep...
Hank,
Thanks for posting the photo's. A am in the process of rebuilding a GWI. Where did you purchase the start capacitor. I am looking forward to seeing your progress.
Thanks again, Sam
Dave, thanks for the information.
Hank, also thanks for including the link. I was most interested in the one you used because it fit the motor mounts. I am looking foreword to the rest of your rebuild.
Thanks again, Sam

Hank, makes me want to send you my old motors. Probably took more time to stage the pictures than fix the motor so thanks for the effort. Dave
Very nice! The rebuild on my 1750 rpm 3 hp motor for my jointer was $300 a couple of years ago.
