Well, I need some tips on cutting rubber. EPDM 1/8in thick. We have a 60 watt Jamieson. We've cut rubber once before but had to utilize 3 passes and the edges were kind of hard and crumbly. Any tips on speed, power and passes?
Thanks

hi there
you need a very low power setting and lower the speed acordingly. one major part is to put the rubber or any material a bit higher that the cut wou;ld be free under because if it is not free below the cut the heat generated by the cut will reflect back to the rubber and make the cut brittle.

Thanks, me and my students will try these changes.
My limited experience with rubber is that it stinks, it's dirty and it doesn't cut well. It can be engraved.
Be sure to use a cutting grid.
