Is you house humidity very low? Maybe start making big pots of soup and just letting them simmer with the lid off. Or a humidifier would be OK, but not as tasty.

I'd ask your doctor though, maybe it's more complex.

I'm not sure soup will have much of an affect on your house's humidity.

Does your oxygen machine have a water bottle where your tube attaches? My dad doesn't need one in humid Florida, but ALWAYS needs one when visiting me in dry Colorado. Ask your oxygen vendor.

What has the local humidity been in Ky. lately?
    Has it been dry outdoors?
Never, under any circumstances, consume a laxative and sleeping pill, on the same night

Over the pot of soup, perhaps. Not on your pillow in the middle of the night.

Since you skipped the question, I'll try again: Does your oxygen machine have a water bottle (at the machine) where your tube attaches?

beeswax and mineral oil mixed. I'd bet that would do it.

Any grease or oil plus O2 under high pressure equals big bang. Probably OK with low pressure, but check with your supplier. I suspect they will say no, just because if you have it on your fingers when you change bottles, it could be a problem.

Joe has the proper answer. My aunt in AZ needed the water bottle too.

If it's just the petroleum that is the problem. Ayr makes a saline nasal gel that works for me.
