Our low-angle jack plane is ideal for shooting miters, working end grain, and initial smoothing. We have designated it as a 62-1/2 because of its generous size and weight, low center of gravity, and radically set-back mouth. This is a bevel-up plane, with a 12° bed angle similar to a low-angle block plane.

The plane is 15" long, 2-3/4" wide and weighs in at 5 lb 12 oz. You will appreciate the way this plane (with a toe that is one third the length of the sole) registers to the workpiece. The body is fully stress-relieved, ductile cast iron. With sides machined square to the sole, a specially shaped lever cap, and the machined thumb recess on either side of the body, it provides both comfort and excellent control when shooting.

The plane's adjustable mouth can be closed to a narrow slit for fine shavings with minimum tear-out or opened for heavier cuts. All of this can be done quickly and accurately with the front locking knob and the unique mouth adjustment screw. The large bubinga front knob and rear handle provide a comfortable grip. The adjustment mechanism, with its combined feed and lateral adjustment knob, makes blade setting easy and accurate. The set screws on either side of the blade prevent it from shifting in use, but allow full lateral adjustment.

Includes a lapped 25° blade, 2-1/4" wide by 3/16" (0.187") thick, in PM-V11™ tool steel. Lapped 38° and 50° blades are available, as well as a toothed A2 blade for working difficult grain. Retail price $240.00

Honing instructions for various cutting angles included.

Please add my name. I'm getting confused as to which "freestuff" drawings I've posted in and which I haven't.

    Mike,

    Confused

I hope so and I am still working on acquiring more FreeStuff. We have 26 days left before our Tenth Anniversary so there is still time to see if I can convince more companies to join our celebration

    Note to All Neanders
You guys and Gals didn't think that I would forget you.....did you?
I sincerely hope that you will enjoy our upcoming celebration, even though most of you don't believe in tools powered by electrons
Here at The Creek Woodworkers are like children, we love ya all the same

Woodworking is terrific for keeping in shape, but it's also a deadly serious killing system...

I have been eyeballing one of these for a while, and the PM-V11 blade would be awesome to try out. Thanks to Lee Valley for the donation, and please count me in!

Not all chemicals are bad. Without hydrogen or oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer.
