scanned a clock dial preps for cutting 1/4 ply

I scanned a clock dial from a magazine at 200 dpi,ran it through a raster to vector prg or illustrator CS5 then into vetric aspire
to clean up the vectors (3/4 hr) and cut it from mahogany 1/4 plywood or some plastic and it turned out very well.
Tricky to get the diagram just right for the conversion

Pretty cool. I think I would have added "triangles" on the outer edge at 12, 3, 6, and 9 to take out some more wood similar (to the other areas.)

It very rewarding to be able to take a diagram ,scan it at 200dpi grey scale and adjust the contast and brightness(this seems to really affect the output)
and produce a good *.dxf file for cutting.Only proble is that it seems to be a bit differnet each time.
This becomes a great tool for making just about anything

  5. I have the file in My database if someone is interested.

That is very nice. I do a few clocks, just lasering on the wood. I'm going to try cutting this out and adding to the clock face to add some dimension. Should look nice. Thanks for the file.

This is really nice. What magazine did you get the clock dial from?
