    The Ultimate Creeker Gathering!

As some of you prior attendees are aware, the Ohio Valley Woodturners Guild (OVWG) puts on a biennial symposium in October that is limited to about 300 or so attendees. It is held at Higher Ground, a church camp facility in Indiana - beautiful place, with a very intimate arrangement where the attendees dine in a dining hall with the demonstrators.

Jamie Donaldson invited me to attend in 2011 - Jamie also drove the 'green machine' - his baby Porsche!, http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthre...WG-Symposium!! After that trip, I suggested to Steve Schlumpf that he and his wife should come down to KY for a visit in 2013 and he and I could attend the OVWG.

Registration just opened for the 2013 event - http://www.ovwg.org/2013-symposium-2/2013-symposium/ - and Steve and I just registered! And, the best part - he and Colleen are coming down to spend some time with us!! I have been working on Steve for two years, and he has, in turn, been working on Colleen to take off some time from work so we could do this.

To make it even better, I plan to retire at the end of this year, so by that time, my work load will be nearly non-existent and we will have a lot of free time to do some sightseeing and playing in the shop. I suspect the ladies will do the knitting/quilting/shopping thing.

    Good times!!

I hope a bunch of you guys will give some thought to coming - Steve and I would love to see some of you again.

It would be wonderful to be able to attend, see you there and meet others also. But, such is not possible for me. Enjoy the meeting and may you have a good and productive retirement. Allan

I, too, won't be likely to be able to make it. But sounds like a good time, and a great way to meet fellow Creekers!

John, best of luck with your retirement. Though, most of the people I know that retire get busier! Watch out, grandkids will be dumped on your doorstep...

John, I am definitely going again this year. You talked me into a Monster articulated arm 2 years ago. And I really enjoyed talking with you. Looking forward to seeing you and meeting Steve this year.

I'm definitely in! This looks like a much less hectic atmosphere than the norm.
Looking forward to meeting other Creekers there as well.

I enjoyed the 2011 event, and if possible I'll get to this year's event.
