PA Saw Co, York, PA :???

Did the usual search but found nothing specific on the PA Saw Co. Any ideas? I have a little dovetail saw of 20 TPI that has the name on the blade. Thanks. Phil

Try a search of Pennsylvania Saw Corporation.

Here is a saw marked "Royal Crown" by the "Pennsylvania saw Corporation of York, Penna". I have a note on it that says they were made from 1938 to 1975 before being bought out. I have no idea where the note came from, so take that with a grain of salt. I'm pretty sure this one came from an estate sale, and I do know that it cuts amazingly well. Problem is that when you google Royal Crown, you pretty much get just Cola.

They're common around here (or were at home, about 20 minutes from york). Most of them that I've seen appear to be fairly inexpensive grade saws (the carpenters saws are plain, and the backsaws look pretty cheap with a lightweight spine, etc), but given that they were made after the circular saw was introduced, that's no suprise. Everyone was going that route.
