    Bandsaw Resawing of Large Stock

I'm looking to resaw some large stock - 10" thick and 4' lengths. I have a Powermatic 87 bandsaw with 3/4" Woodslicer blade. What speed should I be cutting something like that at. My speeds are 200-4000.

    Thanks

Normally you would use the highest speed for wood. I believe the powermatic is metal cutting bandsaw, so, there may be other issues I'm unaware of. I would think, that with the blade you have, there would be no problems.

    Run it at 4000.
Never, under any circumstances, consume a laxative and sleeping pill, on the same night

It's a metal cutting bandsaw, right? I am no expert but I think 1500 RPM low speed is for resawing. Bandsaws for metal cutting has rpms that are too slow.
