Thread: CMYK - RGB Question

    CMYK - RGB Question

I haven't had an issue with this in a long time, but today it surfaced.

I have it set up in Corel that when I open a new Doc that the default is RGB.

Today I had issues with bad engraving that looked like it was a CMYK issue.
I went to the Doc properties and it showed it was a RGB Doc, I scrolled down
only to find that a bitmap was listed as CMYK, the Text had a CMYK fill, The outline was CMYK.

I guess I always thought that if the Doc was RGB it would convert the images and text to RGB.
    Evidently it doesn't......

Is there a way to set this up as a default or for some reason now do I have to always change the text
    and graphics in the Doc?

    Thanks!

Thanks Mark, a question I have still is why when I open a new Doc does it say RGB in the primary color mode, but under color management it had CMYK?

    Martin,

under Tools>Color Management>Default Settings change the color Management Policies on Open and Import and Paste in the RGB drop down menu to convert to default color profile under Open and, convert to document color profile under Import and paste and if you would like to be warn in color profile mismatch then thick the Warn on color mismatch box on both, try and see if this solves it.

I don't know what version of CorelDraw you're using the above would work in X5 and X6 versions only.

I would also turn OFF color management for laser work.
