    Vix bit for blum hinge

What size vix bit is needed to mount the cup side of the hinge to the door?

Vix bit? Do you mean forstner? If so, a 1 3/8" forstner will drill the cup hole.

On the other hand, I still have five fingers.

If your talking about the screws then it depends on the material. For solid wood you can go with the #6 or #7 screws which hold OK. But for mdf, particle board, or a better grip in solid, I'd go with the Insertas....you'll need a 5mm vix bit for those.

    good luck,

Just a slight addendum to Jeff's post. The different INSERTAS use different holes. 5mm for the Blum-Ikea cup hinges (to door), and 5mm for the Blum Inserta plate (cabinet frame/panel) and 8mm for the Blum INSERTA cup to door.
