Substitue smart base - left bladed saws

I bought one of Dino's smart bases for my right bladed Bosch saw, just the smart base - not the whole setup. I just run it against a straight edge. It works well and does a good job. I also have a Porter-Cable 345 Saw Boss 6" left bladed saw that has dust collection, either a bag or I hook my shop vac up to it.

Since Dino doesn't have a variation of the smart base to fit the 345 I decided to make a temporary one until he does come out with one (hint, hint).

A piece of 1/4" baltic birch, some double sided carpet tape, a little cutting and we have an imitation smart base. It works ok, but I'm not sure how long or how well the carpet tape will hold things together.

Bob, good thinking! I hope that your carpet tape lets go when you want to replace your zero clearance insert
