Rustic Used Barn Wood Sign - Alternative

Can anyone suggest an alternative to using old barn wood lumber to make a 3' x 5' sign.

A product or process to get the reclaimed barn wood lumber look but maybe using newer materials or aging process.

    Thanks,

    Pete

The obvious method is gray stain, and some smacking with chains to ding it up.

Depending on the kind of wood, you will get different results, but you can soak steel wool 24 hours in white vinegar. Then paint the wood with tea, let it dry, and brush on the vinegar.

Potassium Dichromate will work the same but is nasty stuff and hard to find.
