Asian chest, a pain to build

I saw this in a book and thought I'd try it ! Took me over a year, a little at a time to finish it. many m/t joints and staining was a real pain!

Nice chest. Not my cup of tea for design but nice. What made it so hard to build?

Looks like a lot of half lap joints.

Those are unforgiving.
The curves must have given you fits (when fitting).

I kinda like it, it's not something you see everyday.
