    From "Save me" to "Saved".

This is how I got it:

This is how it looks today.

Very nice, Myk. I love the "period" looking stand too. It enhances the effect - did you make the stand or buy it with the tool and refinish it?

I really enjoy seeing old tools restored and reused. I've reclaimed a couple hand planes so far, but no machines. Have you fired her up yet? How's she run?

    Thanks, Fred.
I designed and built the stand out of cherry. Still have the electrics to finish, but I have had it running. It's very smooth throughout the speed range.
The saw is painted Rust-Oleum aged copper.
Here are some shots of the stand during the build. I used 30 #0 biscuits for maximum strength.

I free-handed the design on cardboard, then cut a hardboard half template.

    Design and make the bracing.

Before finishing with clear satin Polyurethane. 2 coats.

Great job on your restoration, and it came with a retirement light. Tom

    Myk,

This one came from a local machine shop, my friend gave me the saw a few years ago. I expect that you know that you know that you can use jig saw blades in these saws, they will clamp securely in the lower arm.

Nice work Myk. It's great to see someone return old machines to their former glory. I think you've done this for several machines.
Congrats on a job well done.
