    Omga gloat (and possibly Festool)?

I've always wanted an Omga chop saw in my workshop, but a brand new can cost $2000 USD upwards.

A few days ago I was browsing a local website similar to eBay, noticed this auction only had "precision chop saw" as its title, no mention of brand/model in its description and it didnt have a photo upgrade where you pay to have your photo previewed by others. The saw turn out to be an Omga T55 300 (RRP $1850 about)

it had $300 reserve on it, long story short, thats what I paid

Drove 180 miles today to pick up the saw, the owner is a retired Englishmen who is returning to UK. He used to make picture frame. The saw had very little use

Also picked up a prestine Festool TS55 + guide + CT33 from him for $600 USD, in New Zealand brand new they are about $2000 USD

Yep. You suck. In either USD's, or NSD's, that's a great deal. Of course, now you need to find a deal on the blades for the OMGA.

Yup, you did good! I have the T-50 version of that saw and it's a beast. Once you use it portable miter saws will seem like plastic toys

    good luck,

Yep - a "you suck" for sure !

    A TS55EQ and a CT22 for $600 is a gloat for sure.

    Well done.

How do you use that tape measure with no 1/8 or 1/16th inch graduations?

My OMGA RAS takes 1" bore blades, nothing special, except you file notches on the bore to accept the brake. I am sure you can buy some pre-bored at Forrest.

Check with Festool on that TS55 to see if it's one of the ones they are recalling. http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2013/...-Circular-Saw/

We use metric system here... I have to get convert 1/8 inch into mm to know the size of 1/8.... same as the 1/16...
