Pentz/Echols Cyclone Owners Only

I am having a problem with material being suspended in my cyclone. Most of the stuff drops in right away, but some of it hangs up and doesn't drop into the collection barrel until the unit is turned off.

I recently bought an Oneida barrel, but it hasn't helped the situation.

Any ideas?

PS: I haven't checked my filters yet to see if stuff is passing through. I will do that in the next couple of days.

Mine is yet to be installed, but I've heard of this phenomenon with other cyclones - basically the object is "just right" and stays suspended in the airstream until the air velocity dropes enough (i.e. turning it off <img>). I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Jay, I built the Echoles' version of the Pentz cyclone. My system does exactly what your does, the chips churn around in the outlet to the barrel. I bought 6" spiral flex hose to connect the cyclone to the barrel. The spiral wire is wound counter clock wise but the cyclone is running clock wise. I thought the two were battling each other, and I haven't thought of a solution to that. Otherwise, it will suck the chrome off a trailer hitch

My system is an Oneida C950 cyclone with a Pentz-inspired homemade blower and it does the same thing now and then. Doesn't seem to be a problem.
