any idea how old this is?

it's not for sale, i'm just asking. got it at a garage sale.
also, are there any other old tool forums out there that are worth reading?

    thanks!

It looks like a # 221 Flooring Hammer. Different, but not much collector interest.

It is a flooring hammer. Except for the hump on the handle, and probably cross hatched face,it looks like an early hammer. BTW,such hammers are NOT for pulling nails. Their handles will break because their grip on the head is so short. 18th. C. claw hammers like that were for pulling wooden pegs, not nails. See how short the handle is? It's because the handle has been broken off at the head, and re used. Likely more than once, from it's looks.
