    Suggestions for portable display shelving

I'm looking for ideas for shelving system that can be used to display my work at shows. It needs to be stable yet easily portable. I was thinking about a ladder type system but I'm open to any suggestions.

What kind of "work" are you displaying?

The ladder form is common, but the front leg of the ladder bothers me. It is in the way, and there's no real reason for it to be there. Make the ladder without the front leg. Of course, you'll need to do a good job of joining the rungs of the ladder to the rear leg, but that's not difficult.

You also need some bracing to prevent the shelving system from collapsing sideways. A big X of 1x2 at the rear will do the job. Use thumbscrews or the like, so you can assemble and disassemble the system without tools.
