Spindle sander speeds 30 vs 58

I am on a spindle sander kick, as I have a HF one, and was wondering about the SS speeds. I am talking about the low end ones that have set speeds, I see some at are 30 OPM, like the HF, while others are 58 and up. So let me just ask what are the "ups and downs" of spindle sander speeds.

I have the Ridgid OSS, and have never even thought about speeds 'cause it has worked so well for my needs. Best $200.00 I have spent in a long time.
