    attaching metal hangers to corian

Good morning, I have searched the forum and see that most use a CA to secure metal hangers to the back of Corian plaques. I have only done a couple of plaques so far and used "Goop" to secure the hangers. I guess only time will tell if that will last. Looking for something that will hold up in the weather.

    So.. what do you use?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jerry

Wow... 99 views and no one has any recommendations on what to use to secure a D-ring or saw tooth hanger on a Corian plaque. I know I can make a slot to hag hem but sometimes the carving on the face is too deep to cut a slot.

    Jerry,

I machine keyhole slots to hang my Corian signs. In your case when the depth of carving might prevent that use of a keyhole I would use Shoe Goo adhesive or epoxy. Another option is to fabricate quarter inch thick Corian blocks with a slot machined and use Dupont adhesive or epoxy to join the two. My concern with anything that is in the weather is a long lasting bond and I would never use CA glue for that application. Whatever adhesive you select it has to be able to be flexible enough to deal with the difference in thermal growth of the two dissimilar materials.

Thank you Keith. That's exactly what I was looking for.

    Have a great day,
