I have been using a medium quality cup gun for spraying the past couple of years, but it has issues. Even though it should spray pre-cat lacquer, I have to thin it to get it to spray nicely and then the lay down isn't very good. It will spray water based lacquer, but I don't care for how it then finishes, so I am thinking that I should be thinning the WB lacquer and I don't like that idea. So, I am looking to buy a high quality gun or a system like Earlex etc. I have read through many posts on here, but still have real questions in my mind.

I want a gun that can spray lacquer, water and solvent based, plus a tinted lacquer (paint) and the ones I have used are pretty thick. I also use shellac and that is about it.

Please share your thoughts, what has worked and what I should stay away from.

Thanks
