whats the weight of wood

i have some red oak kiln dried to 6% and need to know what the weight is per bf so i can get the right trailer for it? any help would be appreciated thanks larry.. would be nice to know the weigh of other woods if there was a chart smewhere we could get a rough estimate from.. would be helpful to others i think..

Red Oak has a specific gravity of .55. A cubic foot of water (SG of 1.0) weighs 62.5 lbs. So, RO weighs about 34.37 lbs per cubic foot, or about 2.86 lbs per bd. ft. (1/12 of a cubic ft.).

Trailers are like pole barns/shops no matter how big they are they are never big enough. So get a BIG one...if you need to, I can bring over a 16' tandem axle that my dad hauls his antique tractors on.
